Lunacy

I try to steer away from the blues, but today I was unsuccessful. Not understanding what was happening to me, I made a double batch of my mother’s rice pudding (the original comfort food) and did some house work.

Bored, I flipped through the channels and found my all time favorite movie to weep too. It rained for four straight hours today. Downpours.

"Terms of Endearment" was just starting so I grabbed the bowl, a spoon, a roll of paper towels and sat my ass on the corner of the bed and watched the whole thing.

I cried. I cried for everything that had been. I cried for everything that could be. I cried for every loss I’d suffered and every loss I would continue to suffer. I cried for broken hearts. I cried for chances missed.

I sat there with rice pudding on my face and wept for everything in the world.

It was good therapy.

Tonight, I realized the moon is closer to the Earth than it will be in ages.

Maybe that’s why I was so weepy?

I have a tummy ache. That’s the rice pudding.

I have puffy eyes. That is not the rice pudding.

Hey! Sometimes a girl's just gotta have a good cry!

You must have laughed sometime while watching "Terms of Endearment" - after all, it's a comedy till halfway through, when she gets the dreaded disease - plunging rest the movie to melodrama.

Yeah. Jack Nicholson always cracks me up....but the look on that youngest son when she is telling her boys goodbye....wasted me.

Sorry you've been a bit down but it sounded like TV and rice pudding was the rememdy. Sometimes it's good to just release. Let it go. I hope you're better. :-)

Thanks for the concern Seamus. I'm fine. Just a lot of emotion right now. I can't work it all off, so I cry it off. Emotional movies are the best... You can cry to your hearts content and nobody notices.

I'm okay. Really.
But feel the need to write some poetry at 4:00 a.m. Of course, when I get up, I've forgotten it.

Before I forget...HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I'm tired of sleeping in the guest room!!!!!! Nice face Dom. Very Jackolantery.

I've explained to husband if he is sick for 3 more weeks, he's as good as dead.

How's that for Halloween?

Sounds like he got sick, stressed out from the burglary. Hope he feels better soon, so you can hand out candy to all the trick-or-treating young deer, raccoons and quail tonight.
