Just Passin' Through
I’m just passin’ through
he said with a wink
of his green eyes
sparkling
and a crooked, evil smile.
So he did, just then
pass through to her heart
right through to her soul
till her very body
quivered at the look
of him
He just passed through
never once leaving
a toothbrush on her
sink
or a sock in her drawer
just his shoes under her
bed
and a bit of something else
I’m just passin’ through
she said as she squalled
she had his green eyes
sparkling
and a crooked, sweet smile
Her mother thought
they winked.

I bet he left an ashtray full of Marlboro butts.
Ha! You win the prize for recognition!
But from YOU I expected "Save a horse, Ride a cowboy." ;)
Hey! You know I would say "COWGIRL!"
