I have been tagged by my friend, Amin, to answer all the questions in life that need to be answered. Life, the universe and everything can be answered in one single number. I’ll let you guess if you are a fan of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To the Universe.
1. One book that changed your life?
That would be a book I read in my teens. Green Mansions by W.H. Hudson. Extraordinary in it’s content and ecological theme. I loved it.
2. One book you have read more than once?.
The Littlest Angel by Charles Azwell. I make sure that every Christmas, each and every child in my life gets a copy.
3. One book you would want on a desert island?
I would want my diaries. Long sheets of paper and a pen. That would be heaven.
4. One book that made you cry?
The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings
I can’t tell you, on my mothers sofa, reading something so moving, as a young girl that I wept hard enough that she came running, and having read it....understood.
5. One book that made you laugh?
Many books make me laugh. Mostly because I want to edit out the mistakes!
6. One book you wish had been written?
Illuminatus. Need I say more?
7. One book you wish had never been written?
I don’t believe any book should not have been written. One thing that makes me madder than a wet cat is the fact that years ago, great works... I mean GREAT WORKS were burned because of their content. The written word is the history of mankind. Period.
8. One book you are currently reading?
Cesars’ Way by Cesar Millan. I have this dog. I mean I have this precious pup, I mean I have this damned animal, I mean I have this best friend, I mean I have this daggone dog that can’t stop barking at everything in site and she’s driving me mad.....but I love her.... which in Cesars’ opinion is my first mistake.
9. One book you have been meaning to read?
I’m a minister’s daughter. Girl gone wild, as most would say. I would love to have the discipline to sit down and read the entire Bible...however the begats bore me to tears, and except for the parables, I simply can’t understand it. One thing I do understand is the Golden Rule...
Do unto others as you would have done unto you.
