Mother Nature Has it Out for Me

I love Mother Nature. She has always been so very sweet and kind to me. Allowing me to feed the deer, the raccoons, and the birds… She pleasantly opened my eyes to all of the wonders of the woods and surrounding wildlife.

I don’t know what I have done to piss her off.

It took me three hours to get home from work last night. It was a snow and ice storm of such magnitude that we slid into our parking pad and thanked her for allowing us to arrive safely. It snowed all night, so of course, I called in that I wouldn’t be there this morning.

By noon the snow on the roads was gone. Do I drive an hour and ten minutes to arrive at work a little after one o’clock or just stay home and call it a day? Do I head out and then turn around at five to risk the car and life after the roads freeze over again?

I’ve had a talk, all be it one way, with my dear Mother Nature. I told her that I did not want any more of that nonsense. I explained to her that my reputation of being honorable and dependable is being threatened by her pranks. That sitting in a house after twelve noon, and being perfectly able to get to work, even if it wasn’t worth the drive assaulted my sense of all that is good and perfect in the world.

I believe I heard her snickering. Then I heard her laugh out loud!

So I drove off the hill at four o’clock and made it to a job interview for a new position closer to home.

Maybe she was trying to tell me something? It seems like the ideal position.

Maybe Mother Nature has other things in mind for me.

I still respect her. I just don’t like her sense of humor.

Laughing! Hope the job interview went well. I can't imagine driving an hour each way to get to work.

I am thinking about global warming and what we are doing to our Earth. In the final analysis mother nature will have the last laugh

Mother Nature doesn't have it out for you. She just knows you're after her job! ; )
